Car-free pilot will first take effect in Montreal’s Wellington Street this summer.

Vancouver is also launching their first car-free zone this summer. Toronto and Hamilton will be doing something similar with extended patios and temporary car-less zones.

Why?
On busy streets cars take up valuable space that pedestrians can use. Cities like San Francisco and Stockholm have already tested out car-free zones to make the space more useful for pedestrians.

💊 AI designed drugs by Google

It’s safe to say that AI might revolutionize the entire healthcare system. Days are not far when we would have drugs that cure cancer, diabetes and heart diseases - thanks to AI.

Google’s DeepMind AI research laboratory released AlphaFold 3 in partnership with Isomorphic Labs.

What is AlphaFold 3?
An AI model that predicts the structure and interactions of all of life’s molecules.

Why is this a big deal?
The current drug discovery process has a 90% failure rate. Because scientists have limited knowledge of all the little components of the human body and how the diseases interact with them.

Google is hoping to improve the process with AlphaFold 3. If AI can predict how a drug will affect the body, it will make the whole process much easier and quicker which will help them test more hypotheses before doing expensive testing protocols.
