🏖️ Millennials are “quite vacationing” rather than paid time off
Who needs PTO when you can just work from anywhere.
According to Harris Poll Survey, 4 out of 10 Millennial professionals say they have taken time off without telling their manager.
They feel it's better to take a ‘quiet vacation’ compare to PTO because they don’t have to deal with the pressure of deadlines. Plus, they don’t want to look like slacker to their boss.
The company culture: Libby Rodney, chief strategy officer at The Harris Poll believes employees finding sneaky ways to take breaks is a sign that the company doesn’t have a supportive PTO system in place.
The solution: According to Harris, companies need to get more creative in with their PTO systems like offering:
Company wide week-long shutdowns on major holidays.
Paying new hires to take a vacation, before they start.
Mandatory PTO each quarter.
