What’s happening to YDS:
Shake Shack is making its Canadian debut at 10 Dundas East (The Tenor Building). The U.S chain will bring their famous burgers, crinkle fries and milkshakes.
Hard Rock Cafe is returning to the city after 40 years.
TMU is reconstructing abandoned building at 38-40 Dundas St.E.
Ballroom Bowl is opening its third location in YDS.
A stunning new pedestrian bridge is coming to Waterfront

Toronto’s new immersive pedestrian bridge, Equinox Bridge was announced on Monday.
The unique S-shaped arch bridge will connect city’s mainland with new housing and parks on Villiers Island.
Cirque du Soleil is even cooler this year

ECHO by Cirque du Soleil is opening this week on May 8 in South Etobicoke.
This year it will have something new and cooler (the big white cube).

Warren Buffet sells Apple shares and is looking to invest in Canada

Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting took place over the weekend and some big announcements were made.
The company sold 100 millions shares of Apple and its reported that the company has hit a record cash holding of $189 billion. Plus, Warren Buffet also expressed his interest to invest in Canada.
Uber and Lyft have a new Canadian competitor

Hovr is a new Canadian start-up that aims to solve the problem for Uber and Lyft drivers by letting them keep 100% of their fare.
Hovr plans to charge $20 monthly membership fee + $1 transaction fee to the drivers instead of taking a percentage of the fare.
Drivers are already showing lots of interest as the company has signed up 5000 drivers on the platform and 25,000 are still in queue, this with only few advertisements in the city.
Question is whether the company will be successful in competing with giants like Uber and Lyft who dominate the market.
LinkedIn is adding a games feature on the app

LinkedIn has been making major upgrades to their platform. They recently added a new feature “LinkedIn News Tab” with an improved user experience.
Now LinkedIn is jumping on the brain busting puzzles trends and adding games on their app. Users can share their games with their connections and perhaps make new ones.
LinkedIn is no longer just a job seeking app. They are adding more and more features to make the users engage with the platform actively.
