Saudi Arabiaโs futuristic city plan coming short
169km long skyscraper city in the middle of the desert, how does that sound?
Pretty cool right? But not so realistic. Saudi engineers, architects and executives face problems in the mega-development of โThe Lineโ project.
The cost is thru the roof and they are having a hard time building just two skyscrapers let alone a whole city. However the Saudi economy minister denied any reports of their scale down.
Whatโs going on?
Original plan was to move 1.5 million residents in The Line by 2030 which now is looking like only 200,000.
The Line is expected to cost only a small price tag of $2 trillion. The number is so small that officials are thinking maybe itโs not worth it.
