Nvidia has dethroned Microsoft to become the most valuable company in the world, just weeks after overtaking Apple for the number two spot.
The details:
Nvidia's market cap is now at $3.335 trillion, surpassing Microsoft ($3.32 trillion), Apple ($3.29 trillion), and Google ($2.17 trillion).
Nvidia’s revenue hit $26 billion in May, with the new Blackwell GPU architecture set to launch later this year.

Ilya Sutskever, OpenAI’s former chief scientist, is launching Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI), a new AI company prioritizing safety over commercial pressures.
What you need to know:
Sutskever left OpenAI last May, followed by other key researchers citing safety concerns.
Fast forward few weeks later, he launches SSI with Co-founders Daniel Gross, former AI lead at Apple, and Daniel Levy, former technical staff at OpenAI.
The Goal:
SSI aims to create a safe and powerful AI system with a singular focus on safety and capabilities.
The company will avoid external pressures and management distractions, focusing solely on safe AI development.

🍎 Apple Pay Later is no more

Apple is shutting down Apple Pay Later, a buy now, pay later service fully rolled out in October 2023.
The details:
Apple plans to replace it with "installment loans" from credit cards, debit cards, and lenders through Apple Pay.
The service had a staggered launch, starting with early access in March 2023 before a full US rollout in October.
Existing Apple Pay Later loans remain unaffected.

The features:
Custom Avatars will allow creators and brands to scale likenesses for multilingual and global campaigns.
Stock Avatars use pre-built avatars from paid actors of diverse backgrounds and languages for a human touch in content.
AI Dubbing translates content into 10 languages, enabling creators to reach global audiences.
Why it matters: This will personalize and globalize ad content, potentially boosting engagement and sales, as 61% of users have made purchases via TikTok. Potentially adding a revenue source for creators on the platforms.
