🥒 Do you like pickles? Toronto is hosting Canada’s largest pickle festival

Henderson’s Picklefest is returning to the city this fall for the second time.

Over 50+ vendors will be serving at the festival which will include: pickled foods, fermented drinks, pickled cocktails (not sure how this would taste 🥴), plus gourmet goods and so much more.

Picklefest 2024 will take place on October 5 and 6 from 11am to 7pm at Henderson Brewing Co. Tickets are only for $15 and you can get them here.

🛼 Rooftop skating

This summer try out the newest open-air rooftop roller skating rink. The rink will be located at the Parkade Rooftop of CF Shops at Don Mills.

Timings:

• Wednesdays and Thursdays: 4pm-7pm for kids | 7pm-9pm adults.

• Fridays: 4pm-9pm for adults.

• Saturdays: 1pm-5pm for kids | 5pm-9pm for adults.

• Sundays: 1pm-7pm.

Pricing:

$18 for one hour | $25 for two hours | $30 for three hours

If you bring your own skates general admission for kids (5-16) is $12 and $14 for adults.

📱Apple announced the new iPad Pro and a cheaper iPad

Apple’s spring event concluded yesterday and some major announcements were made.

Here’s everything you need to know:

• iPad Pro got a major physical update and it even comes with M4 processor, which Apple claim is 50% faster than existing M2 processor.

• 11-inch iPad starts at $999 and 13-inch version at $1,299.

• The new entry of 10th-generation iPad, starting only at $349.

• Apple redesigned their Magic Keyboard and they claim it feels just like MacBook (it was about time).

Here’s an idea that would save you $600, get the 10th-generation iPad for $349 and get the new Magic Keyboard for $299, get the MacBook experience with an iPad and save 50%.

📵 TikTok fights back and drama continues

TikTok and US government have been going back and forth for past few months and finally came to the decision that TikTok must sell to a US company or the operations will be banned in the country within 9 months.

Now TikTok is suing the US government over the decision stating that they think it’s “unconstitutional”.

🚀 NASA launched Boeing Starliner with astronauts crew on board

Last night, Boeing and NASA launched first crew test flight of Boeing Starliner. It is carrying two astronauts and they are en route to International Space Station (ISS).

Why is this important: In 2019, NASA had a failed test flight which costed US$1.4 billion. In 2020, Elon Musk’s SpaceX came to rescue with their Dragon Capsule, which has been the only craft used for astronaut travel to ISS.

If Starliner is successful, it will be used as a back up by NASA for future space travels for astronauts.
